The JVM 102 error simply implies that a .cod file on your phone is corrupt, and the phone is not able to load it. A .COD file is a proprietary file format developed by RIM.
Why wipe your phone for a bad file? 

The steps below will help you fix the JVM Error 102 without you wiping the device.
I would have given a pictorial illustration but my phone still works fine and I do not have any bad BlackBerry phone with the problem.

Step 1

Download JL_Cmder

Step 2

Connect your phone to your PC using a good USB cable. It displays like this 


Step 3

Run JL_Cmder and select the second option (event log)


Step 4

Scroll to the bottom of the log and look for “JVM Error 102.” The line before it should tell you exactly what file is causing the error. Save th file name; you will need it later.

Step 5

Go to Start > Run, and type “cmd” then press Enter.

Step 6

Change the directory to the JL_Cmder installation folder by typing the following: cd “C:\Program Files\JL_Cmder\” and press the enter key.

Step 7

Type the following command to remove the offending file:

javaloader.exe -u erase -f FILENAME

where FILENAME is the name of the .cod file. Press enter key

Step 8

Disconnect your phone from your PC and restart it, it should work normally. 
You are advised to back up your phone after this process.
